These are great thoughts Nicoline. I mean I think it goes beyond just having a devil's advocate; I think this speaks to the lack of diversity in the tech world, not just in terms of race and gender but in terms of thoughts and ideology. If everyone in tech has had the same training more or less and gone through similar paths, then as a group tech will be more susceptible to blind spots. If someone on the design team at Slack had ever had a stalker who messaged him or her by any means necessary, the team would have realized earlier in the development process that Slack Connect could become another channel of that type of communication. Still, interesting to see what big features will be rolling out next and whether it will be a success (because for all the grief we give it, the like button is a huge success), or a dud.
